Avicena to Present at 9th Annual Acumen BioFin Healthcare Conference

Expansion of Drug Pipeline and Advancement of Clinical Programs

Palo Alto, Calif. (October 8, 2007) — Avicena Group, Inc. (OTCBB:AVGO), a late-stage biotechnology company that develops central nervous system therapeutics for neurodegenerative disorders, announced today that it will be a presenting company at the 9th Annual Acumen BioFin Healthcare Conferenceto be held November 5-6, 2007 at the New York Palace Hotel. The company's chief executive officer, Belinda Tsao-Nivaggioli, Ph.D., will present an overview of the company and its clinical programs, including an update on activities to build its drug pipeline and investigate new delivery vehicles to enhance the bioavailability of its lead drug candidates.
